Lefkada Island Hopping: Top Routes from Our Marina

Lefkada sits in the heart of the Ionian island chain. From our marina, you can reach Meganisi in 30 minutes, Scorpios in 45, Ithaca in 2 hours, and Kefalonia in 3. This central position makes it the best starting point for island hopping in western Greece.

Route 1: Meganisi and Scorpios (Half Day)

The shortest and most popular route. Meganisi is a quiet island with three small villages, crystal-clear swimming bays, and waterfront tavernas. The harbour at Vathy is postcard-perfect: colourful fishing boats, a handful of restaurants, and zero tourist coaches.

From Meganisi, it is a short hop to Scorpios, the private island once owned by Aristotle Onassis. You cannot land (it remains private), but you can anchor offshore and swim in water that is almost impossibly clear. The sandy seabed at 3-4 metres glows turquoise.

Route 2: South Coast Beaches (Full Day)

Head south along Lefkada's coast to hit the island's best boat-access beaches: Agiofili, Afteli Bay, and then round the cape to Porto Katsiki and Egremni. This route covers 5-6 swimming stops with a lunch break at a Vasiliki taverna.

Route 3: Ithaca Day Trip (Full Day)

Ithaca is the mythical home of Odysseus, and it looks the part. Green mountains drop into deep blue fjord-like bays. The main town, Vathy, sits at the end of a long natural harbour. Arriving by yacht gives you the same perspective ancient sailors had.

On the Prestige 38S, the crossing takes about 90 minutes. Stop at Filiatro beach (Ithaca's best swimming spot), explore Vathy for lunch, and return via Meganisi for a late afternoon swim.

Route 4: Multi-Day Ionian Circuit

For multi-day charters on the Sun Odyssey 449, the classic circuit is Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia (Fiskardo), and back. Four days covers it comfortably with time for swimming, exploring, and eating at waterfront tavernas in each port.

Fiskardo on Kefalonia's northern tip is the jewel of this route: Venetian architecture, yacht-lined harbour, and restaurants that serve some of the best seafood in the Ionian.
